Meet Your Apothecary

Driven by an unwavering love for plants, I find solace and wonder in the intricate symphony of nature's offerings. From the delicate twists of a leaf to the vibrant bloom of a flower, each botanical treasure holds a story waiting to unfold. It is this deep reverence for the natural world that fuels my passion for herbalism.

My journey however extends beyond admiration; it intertwines with a profound desire to help others. I see the power of plants not only as remedies but as conduits for healing and transformation. Whether it's soothing aches, calming stressful minds, or overcoming a cold, I believe in the profound impact that botanical remedies can have on enhancing the well-being of those in need.

I've been studying herbal remedies for over five years now, with plant medicine being a focus in my later years of childhood and even more so into my young adult life. Over the last three years I've moved into clinical work with clients covering myriad ailments. It is in this time that I've come to hone my skills. Picking up foraging, increasing my knowledge base of Materia Medica, and learning how to engage with others in a clinical setting have been my forefront goals and achievements.

I don't discredit western medicine but as a child of the opioid epidemic I've seen the havoc that ensues when we live a life out of balance, when we no longer look to the earth for healing. It is for this reason I've specialized my practice into non-addictive pain management. When nature provides safe alternatives, they should be a present option more so then potentially lethal and addictive substances.

In 2021 I established myself as an Herbalist in Bloomington, IN, offering personalized tinctures, teas, and balms. With over 200 locally sourced and foraged herbs, its been my pleasure to serve this community then, now, and into the future.

Squid at Ars Enodia is an exceptionally well studied, meticulous, and thoughtful herbalist. In the more than a year since I have used their products, they have helped remedy a multitude of ailments. I have chronic health problems that manifest with lots of inflammation and joint pain in my body. The teas, tinctures, and balms I’ve used from Squid have dramatically reduced the amount of pain I experience and done leagues for keeping inflammation at bay.

This year I also managed to contract Infectious Mononucleosis and was saddled with debilitating exhaustion for months. When I finally got the diagnosis and was told by the doctors there was nothing that could be done for my symptoms, I reached out to Squid. They formulated a specially crafted tea blend that included herbs found effective in studies against the Epstein-Barr virus that causes most mono cases. My exhaustion was abated within a week.

I cannot say enough good things about the time, resources, and effort Squid puts into their craft. They diligently walk through your health history and any medications you take to make sure there are no drug interactions, cover in detail the science behind what herbs they are using, and even go so far as to explain what forms of the plant work best for what remedies. Squid’s herbalism isn’t just cheeky bulk blends with names like, “Sleepy Time Tea” or “Immune Booster”, it’s individually curated medicinal herbs condensed into a medium most effective for the treatment of your health concern. I highly recommend their work.
